Letter of Introduction
It began in the late months in 1998, a group of
young individuals came together with the common desire to utilize their
abilities, their dedications to better serve the Buddhist sanghas and to
express their deep gratitude towards all the Buddha's and the many ancestors
who came before them.
Dao Tam Buddhist Society was then formed.
As with any organizations, we went through
numerous hardships and difficulties in the early years, but because of our
members' perseverance, and with the great support and guidance of everyone, Dao
Tam Buddhist Society strives to exist for almost seven years.
One of our goals is to help in keeping the
Dharma Wheel turning, so that the Buddha's teachings can be generously spread
out to everyone, so that everybody can live in harmony, peace, and
happiness. Now the time has come for us
to introduce to you - our supporters - the newly created website www.daotam.org,
in the hope that we can further extend our friendship to all fellow Buddhists
Purposes and Principles:
• Learn the Buddha's
teachings and practice Buddhism to better ourselves, to reach true happiness
and move towards the goal of enlightenment.
• Participate in doing
the good work, serving others, supporting the Sanghas.
• Work together and
know to listen, change, and improve as necessary so that we can serve better.
• Continue to create
more Dharma Audio and Voice of Compassion programs.
• Give opportunities
to young Vietnamese-Americans to embrace Buddhism through music, songs, poems,
and other creativities.
• Produce CDs and MP3s
of Dharma teachings, for free distribution to anyone who is interested in
learning more about Buddhism - our way of sharing.
We invite everyone to help us continue turning
THE DHARMA WHEEL, so that the Buddha's teachings can be widely distributed to
and shared by all beings.
May the light of Buddha continue to empower you
and us on our journey to become enlightened
